The Desktop team is considering EOL'ing Python 2.4 in the near future before the next release of Solaris. This will ease maintenance and require less support moving forward.
The Desktop team has already been working with the printing team, the IPS team, and other teams to make this switch, and things seem to be moving along. However, before moving forward, I wanted to touch base and find out if there are any other projects which still depend on Python 2.4. If so, we would like to discuss and work together to see if we can finalize the switch to Python 2.6 in the near future. Obviously the Desktop team will file a proper EOL ARC case for Python 2.4 soon, but I wanted to give a less formal heads up before we do so to make sure that we are working with everyone who might be affected.
