Hello folks;
I have Solaris 9 box that after power outage last week, won't come back up, it
starts fine and reaches the point where it says "System is coming up" with no
errors then says "LDAP Domain is my companycomain.com" then hangs there
forever. i'm able to bring it up in a single user mode but i have to be
physically in front of the server and if i ping it, i got normal respond, but
it won't come up in multi user mode for some reason.
I did remove the network cable thinking it could be because of some mounted
drives but still the same.
I ran fsck with no error reported.
I unmount all shares and got the same results. no boot in multi user
i removed all packages related to LDAP and used "ldapclient uninit" with no
luck.
I removed all startup files related to LDAP under "/etc/rc0.d, rc1.d, rc2.d &
rc3.d" with no luck. I also removed LDAP from nsswitch.conf with no luck
no matter what i do i couldn't get the server to fully come up.
dmesg and /var/log/messages only have info until the day we lost power.
Any idea what could be the problem and how can i bring it up in multi user
state?
