I have encountered this bug, where the computer lags incredibly much, including
sound:

Then I tried to edit the power.conf file as described and rebooted and
everything is fine. Except one thing: The shell window. I have severe problems
typing text:
$ ls
hello.txt meow.txt
Dokument
Downloads
The correct output should be:
$ ls
hello.txt
meow.txt
Dokument
Downloads
When I type text into gedit or another program such as Firefox and write mail,
or post forum posts, I can type text without problems.
I have tried another shell, ksh, and all I see is a ">" when I try to type a
key.
$ ksh > > > > > >
I also tried to install "terminator" shell from IPS, which allows multiple
windows. But I see the same problem.
So what to do? Should I file a bug, or is there any workaround?
Hardware: Intel Q9450 + P45 Gigabyte EP45-DS3P motherboard + Ati 4850
