That's an additional aspect.
Maybe you do not remember that I have been a Blastwave
member/contributor/packager myself from 2004 to 2006, so I am aware of
the nitty gritty.

The rest is still 100% true.
Did you read link #1 which I provided earlier in this thread?
If not, then here it is again:

Even based on SVR4 pkgadd (as obviously required) it would be possible
to maintain update plans before downloading much more than a few
kbytes. Moinak Ghosh has engineered and show-cased a possible
solution:

http://moinakg.wordpress.com/2008/09/18/belenix_packaging/
http://moinakg.wordpress.com/2008/09/22/belenix-packaging-and-repository-directions-part-2/
http://moinakg.wordpress.com/2008/11/22/the-belenix-package-manager/

Last time all his engineering had been planted into Indiana without
asking him much for permission and without giving him any credit for
it. This time his advice is not even used at all.

I wonder, which one of those 2 is actually WORSE and MORE DAMAGING for
the OpenSolaris project.

Maybe others could comment?
