You can only upgrade to the packages Sun puts in the pkg.opensolaris.org repository, and they haven't updated those yet. They say they plan to update them frequently, but as to when that will be, you guess is as good as mine... As far as SXCE goes, that doesn't use IPS and PKG... yet, anyway.
