After the initial installation, you should first log in as "root" (this is the
only option) using:

user name: root
pass word: (root password)

I suggest that you select GNOME as your default desktop. After the initial
login, a dialog window will pop up, asking you to create a non-root user.
There, you can input your "user name" and the associated "pass word".

New users may be confused in that, at the present setup, a second window
prompting for on-line registration will also pop up before you have had a
chance to complete adding a non-root user. At the present time, simply elect
"not to register" to close this second window.

Thereafter, you should log out, then re-log in as the newly created non-root
user.

Initial experience of SXCE can be a little rough, you may see messages that
some gnome programs are crashing or have crashed. Don't be discouraged.
Solaris Express has a self-healing capability (this is not a voodoospeak), and
you will see its performance improves with time.
