Beforing getting in the package management/installation stuff, I think we need to solve a big problem here: ON build. The current build process is really monolithic and unfriendly for new commers. What is all that 'nightly' and 'bldenv' stuff? Have you considered seperating in packages and give the freedom to build what ever you want (kernel, libc, base utils) like GNU tools?
