Actually, it's purely a practical argument: there are other operating systems out there, other than Linux. How about that? Like for example HP-UX. Or IRIX. And guess what? My System V commands and tools work the same in 98% of the cases. Who would have thought, huh? That fact that System V tools are consistent is another practical bonus. And that they don't try to implement tools inside of other tools (like out "dear" GNU tar), providing for maximum flexibility, is another. In other words: GNU to me is just like Microsoft. They purposely *BREAK* compatibility. GNU should be banned. GNU IS NOT UNIX.
