After editting /boot/grub/menu.lst file & add -B acpi-user-options=2 in "kernel ...", I'm able to boot up the os w/o any more issues. I'm using Intel 945GM graphics chip set. Pls let me know what do I have to do to improve the sharpness of my screen.
