Maybe pkginfo(1) can get you some of the information you're looking for.
eg.
$ pkginfo -c system |grep -i atheros
system SUNWatheros Atheros 802.11b/g Wireless
NIC Driver
hi
pkginfo displays packages
try modinfo (man modinfo) it shows loaded modules
