I would suggest checking the documentation. The Trusted Extensions packages substantially change the behavior of the system -- a trusted system is _not_ the same as a plain Solaris system. Thus, installation of them has to be a choice. For example, when a system is trusted, Zones are used to represent security labels. The user sees a single system, even though each label is implemented with a separate zone. This implies that you _cannot_ set up ordinary zones on a trusted system; they're all part of the collective. May other things change as well, such as the operation of TCP/IP. (Yes, it might have been possible to make the trusted mode on/off switch a run-time variable that's separate from the package installation, but that's not how it was designed.) security-discuss might be a better list for these questions, as they're not really related to install itself or the development of Open Solaris. -- James Carlson, KISS Network <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 1 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-discuss@opensolaris.org
