There is the development of this driver already being done. I'm testing it currently for an internal project. I'm not sure what the schedule is for it getting into Nevada and then OpenSolaris though...
I just spoke with Fir about the native AHCI driver project which he is working on. Hotplug support is one of the targetted features for the project. The nevada integration target is approaching fairly quickly, but Fir and Ying are the people who can comment on it. (posting from the office via the web) best regards James C.
