It appears that nForce chipsets have a programmable RAM that Windows is allowed
to write some things thereto that happen to be unfriendly to Solaris and cause
the embedded NIC to be unrecognizable by Solaris. One way to solve this
problem is, other than flushing the RAM content with Fedora Core, after
shutting down from Windows, unplug the electrical cord and let the machine cool
off so as to cause the RAM content to disappear. The embedded NIC will become
usable again by Solaris.

Is there any way to cause Solaris to also write to (i.e., flush) this RAM,
similar to what Fedora Core are doing? Thanks.
