We see the asy0 problems a lot with Toshiba laptops; I think changing
to either "config all devices" or "Setup by OS" fixed both that issue
and the slow boot.
As you might have seen, I finally got past this (just took a long time)
and got nv50 loaded and running. I haven't tried rebooting yet, so I
don't know if I'll continue to see slow booting or not. If I do see
slow booting, I may have to live with it for now, as the BIOS options
are really limited on this machine (one fault so far...).
I also got the Atheros wifi driver working with WEP, and just blogged
about it here: http://lopsa.org/node/866 (or go through
http://lopsa.org/blog/2, to see all my blogs as I'm working my way
through things).
