What about "CDS" == Community Desktop System ?

Now that JDS isn't a separate entity any more, do we really need to
call it anything other than "GNOME", or "[Open]Solaris GNOME"?

All the Linux distros ship GNOME desktops that include many of the
same non-GNOME applications that Solaris does (Firefox, Thunderbird,
OpenOffice), but they don't feel the need to think up a fancy name
for just the desktop bit[1]. It usually just shows up as "GNOME" on
the login screen Sessions menu.

+1 from my perspective.

Should say that I don't think the project on the website should be called "GNOME" even if we go with that idea, as that really would be misleading to potential contributors. "Desktop" seems descriptive enough for that, although I guess we might not really want a project and a community with the same name...

Calum.
