Hi. I've been a unix guy for a very long time. One of the things that has
frustrated me is roaming abilities. I'd like to be able to use my laptop (nv
bld 35 currently) at home, at work, and at a coffee shop without having to
worry about sync issues:

- directory services vs. local home dirs
- copying files from my NFS home dir to the local machine (and back)
- directory services (e.g. email) lookups when disconnected
- using one laptop vs. another

I think something that would do all of this work for me would be a great
feature set ongoing. I could have multiple laptops use the same system for
data sync and be able to work against the same data regardless of where I was
located.

I've got some ideas on how it could be implemented (nscd, rsync, config, etc.).
What does everybody think? It would save me a lot of time if things just
'worked' when I came and went from work.
