Solaris 10 and later on a 9G drive is going to be tight, especially if you want 
to put
any additional software or your own data on the machine.

It's best - by far - to keep things simple and just have a small swap area and 
large root.
I would probably split it 7:2 or something like that.

(You really do want to keep it simple. If you split it up any further then 
you're
pretty much guaranteed to have one partition full and orphaned space somewhere
else, especially on such a small drive.)
