I must say that I am really pissed off by an off-line reply I received from one of SUN's engineers who asked whether I "have ever built out a manufacturing plant for electronic gear?"
Personally we have not. We are not in the hardware or even the software business. But one of clients was once planning to build a DRAM fab in Montreal area. Cost: about $2 billion. Most if not all of the technical questions posted on this forum are left unanswered, but Sun's engineers do find time to engage in non-technical matters. Perhaps most of the trashing about Sun are well justified. If any of Sun's engineers considers this a flame bait, so be it.
