TJ> I did try to post my problem in help forum first but got no response TJ> and I saw others post failing here in "code" forum. I apologize for the lack of response on "help". I'll pay closer attention to build questions to make sure they get a response (though it may take 1-2 business days). As for using "code", I suppose the rules are a little fuzzy about which forum to use. And the idea of having a single "code" discussion probably needs revisiting anyway, now that we've got area-specific discussions (DTrace, ufs, nfs, etc.) and plans to add more consolidations. But questions like "did my build succeed" are basic enough that they probably ought to go into "help", rather than "code". TJ> Please bear with me for now, I will get there. No problem, you're doing fine. TJ> Thanks again for your detail explanation. Do you mind if I post TJ> your answer on above URL ? Nope, I don't mind. You might mention that the uid and gid that are used (when the packaging information is missing) will depend on who does the build. So, come to think of it, the answer I gave you wasn't quite right. In the BFU archives that Sun provided, the uid and gid for those files will be the ones I said in my earlier mail. But since you're building the archives yourself, those files will get *your* uid and gid. mike _______________________________________________ opensolaris-code mailing list [email protected] https://opensolaris.org:444/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-code
