2 is too short IMHO
4 is a bit short but ok

as we have a short merge windows and openocd is not as complex as the kenel 6 
weeks for rc
seems good
Personnaly 6 releases is a good number

kernel is 8weeks fix window

barebox is monthly release

u-boot is the same as the kernel (3 month release)
