Please send me your configuration files at laurent.gauch-AT-amontec.com. I am
currious to see it.
Our Amontec JTAGkey is base ft2232d and our Amontec JTAGkey-2 is based on ft2232h.
Both JTAGkey and JTAGkey-2 works at 6MHz and the JTAGkey-2 can up to 30MHz.
The end maximum frequency of your JTAG chain is not only depending of the
ft2232 type, but is depending on the type de layout and buffer used.
The Amontec JTAGkey-2 have ultra-high-speed buffers with large output current
as 32mA. Having a strong output driver current help a lot to reach high
frequency on the JTAG Chain.

Laurent
