ISTR concluding interface first, since not all targets work with all debug adapter interfaces. E.g. a target only supporting JTAG or SWD would need a compatible debug adapter. And it's impossible to remove all these scripts, because -chain-position is necessary. That needs fixing. SWD has no notion of chain position, only JTAG does ... seemed tricky to fix though (like some of the other dependencies the OpenOCD core has on JTAG.
