I have tried the "Hardware debugger" plugin, but I feel that it is making
basic operations overly complicated. All I need to do for embedded
debugging to execute a few gdb commands. The "Hardware debugger" has
a dozen buttons to try to cover the most common GDB commands.

No idea. I only know what performance I get w/ZY1000.
