>/ I think it would be better to spell out "bytes" here to avoid confusion
/>/ with kilo bits...
/>/ I don't know if there is such a thing as a "correct" way to write
/>/ kBytes/s in English. I do believe "k" should be lowercase?
/>/
/>/ "kg" =>  kilogram though...
/>/
/>/ If there isn't a "correct" way to write kilo bytes/second, then I would
/>/ settle for an unambigous one.
/
It's said that "k" stands for kilo, which is 10^3, and "K" stands for... ?, which is 2^10... Anyway - b is definetely for bit, and B - byte.

Some weeks ago I already commented the KB/s ambiguity .

kilobytes should be KB
kilobits should be Kb
as
kibibit should be Kib

you could see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_rate_units
But here still ambiguous ! kilo should be K and not k + the / should not be used !

kilograms is Kg not kg

The notation KB/s is popular, but not scientific !
The / (devisor notation) in KB/s is really not a scientific notation
Kbps is scientific ;-)

Kbps is for Kilo bits per second .

But that definitions.

The best would be to write in plain text as
byte <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte> per second
bit <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bit> per second
kilobyte <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobyte> per second
megabit <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabit> per second
kibibit <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibibit> per second

or a mix as
nnnKB/s (kilobyte <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobyte> per second) ...
