The JTAG interface is present on the STM32 board so you can debug and reflash your new application. To make this a SWD only debugger would be easy. If you would want to make it a JTAG debugger then you would have to use SWD to debug and reflash your code since you would need some of the pins from the JTAG interface. Most unused pins are not easily accessible. There is the port for the LED that can be borrowed.
