Subject: Re: [openmeetings-dev] Need help
Thanks Sebastian,
Based on this response, I'm assuming that there is no step-by-step guide for
individuals to install open meetings. I have been reading some of the google
groups posting for this application and it appears that others are/were having
problems with the installation. So I thought that I could reach out to this
group to get some help. All I was requesting was clarification on the
instructions that was available. I apologize for asking such a question.
Your suggestion on getting a Sys-Admin is great; however; I would like to learn
this system so that I'm able to maintain it, which is why I was asking for a
step-by-step guide. So hiring a temporary sys-admin that specializes in
OpenMeetings will not solve my problem in the long run and nor is it cost
effective for me to do so. Thanks for your suggestion.
Thanks for your feedback!

If that is too cryptic I would suggest you rather get some Sys-Admin or you
book some installation service for the software.
Its true, the instructions are rather technical, but the the tools are overall
not that kind of exotic that its too difficult for a Sys-Admin to apt-get the
necessary packages.

Thanks Sebastian,
I tried this and the instructions appear to be cryptic. I'm not understanding
what they are telling me to do. I tried to install OpenOffice-Service and
that doesn't work for me. So I was looking for a step-by-step guide or a video
that provides step-by-step instructions, similar to the guide that is available
for the users of openmeetings. Do you know of one that is available online
that I can use.

Thanks Sebastian for your response.
My situation is this...
I have my moodle site on my localhost and it is hosted on godaddy (using
XAMMP). I was trying to install openmeetings on the localhost and then load it
on my live website. However, I cannot find any instructions that guides me to
the process of installing on either the localhost or on godaddy.
Could you provide me with some step-by-step instuctions please?

Hallo Sedessia,
you need a dedicated Server with ROOT access and the ability to install &
update packages to run the OpenMeetings Server.

Hello,
I am trying to install openmeetings using my moodle site. However,
the instructions that I have found on the internet is not very
useful. Could someone please provide me assistance or point me in the
direction on how to install openmeetings as an administrator of my
site.
