Comment #2 on issue 928 by Matti.Laakso: Talk modes: push-to-talk, mute own
voice, open microphone
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/issues/detail?id=928

some discussion:

This could be done by the flash silenceLevel function. Guess this is the
meter that
you can change from flash settings microphone tab.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/ActionScriptLangRefV3/flash/media/Microphone.html#silenceLevel

We discussed earlier that maby there should be a dropdown menu which
includes mute,
push-to talk and openMic options. Mute would set silenceLevel to 100 ->
user cant
activate mic by speaking. OpenMic could set the silenceLevel to some user
specified
default value-> user could speak normally, as he/she can do now in OM
0.9rc5.
Push-to-talk would show user some kind of button next to the dropdown menu.
When
pressing the button, the silenceLevel is dropped to 0 -> user can speak.
When not
pressing -> silenceLevel 100 -> no voice.

Milestone-Release0.9 if possible :)
