Hi. I've _finally_ gotten the hardware I've needed to get working on the OpenIndiana systems and documentation I wanted to start 3 or 4 months ago. (The Canada Post strike couldn't have come at a worse time.) Right off the bat, these documents https://dlc.openindiana.org/docs/osol/20090715/SYSADV1/html/smcover-1.html [1] and https://dlc.openindiana.org/docs/osol/20090715/SYSADV1/html/smcover-3.html [2] etc. are all about SMC, which, I gather, is not part of our tool kit. (Note the date of these docs.) So, I'll probably start by trying to replace these pages with step-by-step instructions, if that is OK with people. I'll try to keep the language neutral, like the original. This won't happen quickly, but as I can. And, I'll need to hand-code it all, or is there a preferred system/toolchain? It's been ages since I worked on this last. (That was before Oracle bought Sun... Again, note the dates.)
Who should I submit the new pages/work to? If someone is already working on this, I'm happy to take this discussion off-line. And, is this cool with people? Rainer PS My main test systems still don't like USB HDD.
