Hi,
You can do
pfexec pkg install pkg:/developer/gcc-14
And voila you have a working gcc.

Hi.
Sorry for the long silence; I've had trouble getting hardware together
to get going on my playing and documenting. (Canada Post's strike is
_still_ holding me up; I think they did a "first in, last out".)
I'm trying to get a copy of gcc that is capable of building working
executables. None of the ones I've tried so far have even been able to
bootstrap a gcc compile. (Then I can build a recent version of the
compiler suite.) Which version can actually get me started building? I
just keep getting: "checking whether the C compiler works... no ...
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables "
This is on OpenIndiana. $uname -a says: SunOS omar 5.11
illumos-fdb843bd83 i86pc i386 i86pc (and yes, I've done a "pkg update").
Thanks,
Rainer
