Hi

As I am currently running the nvidia-470 driver, I wondered if downgrading to nvida-390 using the method list below would resolve the issue

|#beadm create nvidia-390 #beadm mount nvidia-390 /tmp/nvidia-390 #pkg -R /tmp/nvidia-390 uninstall nvidia-470 #pkg -R /tmp/nvidia-390 install nvidia-390 #beadm activate nvidia-390 #init 6 |

Unfortunately while the driver downgrade worked, lightdm goes into maintenance so can not check if this has fixed the issue.
Any suggestions on how to proceed to get lightdm working

Hi Russell!

We should investigate what is happening first.

The first thing that comes to my mind, is that X fails to start.

What error messages are in /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

Or, did you try starting X manually? I think i use "startx" and then "pkill twm" inside the xterm and then "mate-session" in these cases... to get a full-featured desktop.

Stephan
