You should be aware that the Z820 comes either with E5-2600 or
E5-2600v2. It the machine can facilitate a v2 Xeon depends on its boot code.
Furthermore, the machines come either with ordinary cpu coolers or
water-cooled. The latter is slightly less noisy and fits all cpu models.
The Z820 should run OI Hipster, albeit I don't have this model. I am
using Hipster on a same generation Z420 (E5-1620v2). I have all my OI
installations on SSD's.
So, yes it works on SSD's ;-)
