Hi, I installed hipster 20151003 today from DVD on H81 cupset
motherboard with Intel G1820 cpu with integrated graphics.
I see picture is only at 1024x768 for now and was planning to us
VirtualBox on it for running Guest OS(windows) inside, using external
USB devices.
My maincencern is graphivcs on that intel and I suppose that should be
improoved with Xorg updates, but I witnessed I lost ability to turn
off screen with DPMS with xscreensaver and losta bility to control LCD
screen brightness , just shortly BEFORE hipster snapshot ISO release...
As you know Hipster can not get older packages back (that used to work
better), because of naming scheme that has major package name first
and then OI release second and that breaks ability to manipulate
packages freely.
So if problem with OI hipster graphics I can't solve during this day,
I won't be able to use it on that machine because machine would bein
production and out of hands.
I protest inability to install older packages in hipster that works
and naming scheme that effectuively makes hipster unusable for making
stable distro.
I protest making hipster snapshot releases that include freshly
introduced regressions and new bugs.
Always being in constant flux and adding changes that add more bugs is
not leading to having something usefull and supportable.
And yes, I am very much sorry for gramatic mistakes in previous message,
spellcheck also stopped workinng awhile ago in hipster's Thunderbird ,
without bothering that Thunderbird and Firefox without spellcheck are
much less usable.
