Like others, I've updated Hipster on my notebook where it runs as a VM under VirtualBox, and lost GUI ;)
Currently, I believe the issue boils down to this end of the XOrg log: [ 69670.527] (II) LoadModule: "vboxvideo" [ 69670.528] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/amd64/vboxvideo_drv.so [ 69670.537] (II) Module vboxvideo: vendor="Oracle Corporation" [ 69670.537] compiled for 10.6.99, module version = 1.0.1 [ 69670.537] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 69670.537] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 6.0 [ 69670.537] (EE) module ABI major version (6) doesn't match the server's version (12) [ 69670.537] (II) UnloadModule: "vboxvideo" [ 69670.537] (II) Unloading vboxvideo [ 69670.538] (EE) Failed to load module "vboxvideo" (module requirement mismatch, 0) [ 69670.538] (EE) No drivers available. [ 69670.538] Fatal server error: [ 69670.538] no screens found [ 69670.538] The VirtualBox host / GuestAdditions version is 4.3.20 (latest is 4.3.22 issued a week ago, downloading now to see if its upgrade automagically fixes things). FWIW, the VB changelogs variably claim "X11 additions" or "X11 guest" compatibility bumps - 4.3.16 with X.Org 1.16, and 4.3.22 adds X.Org 1.17. Curiously, no SMF services are failed: $ svcs gdm STATE STIME FMRI online 17:35:34 svc:/application/graphical-login/gdm:default Jim _______________________________________________ openindiana-discuss mailing list openindiana-discuss@openindiana.org http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
