We have a openindiana fileserver sharing out a zfs filesystem to windows
desktops that are all part of the domain. The fileserver is currently, at
random times of the day (about twice a day, used to be once a week) having a
funny 5 minutes a not being accessible and just hanging on the user's desktop.

The only error log I can find that seems to be related is in the
/var/svc/log/system-idmap:default.log that will log

thread creation refused - 40 threads currently active

multiple times. Where does the 40 limit come from, and is it something I
can/should change?

So far google has only lead me to a anikin that had this problem but nobody has
responded to him.

Any pointers?

Thanks

John
