Hi all,

as I posted some time ago, I got a new machine, this HP xw8200.

It was running ok, would sometimes hang for no apparent reason. I updated the BIOS and that got rid of the /dev/random missing providers at boot, but it would still hang.

So I started to read /var/adm/messages and with each reboot I'd find this part:

Now, I read about disabling ACPI in OI/OSOL using the user-acpi-options=0x8 or 0x4 or 0x2, but in the end just disabled ACPI from BIOS and it hasn't frozen since.

What are the possible problems I could run into?

Thank you,

   Bryan
