That makes sense since Apple hired Sweet and bought the CUPS source a few
years back. OpenSolaris only switched to CUPS in what -- the 2010.03
release? We've been using it with Solaris for quite some time but it always
requires a relinking of the lp binaries with every OS patch to the lp
package. Regardless of its ownership, CUPS has helped me resolve many a Unix
printing problem over the years but I still can't shake the BSD printcap
commands out of my brain any more than I can all the years of Sendmail m4
nonsense that's mashed in there with it.
