The feeling I had was that there could be something going wrong there as recipes that install lots of files not only take very long but also create _very_ large database file: The increases do not seem even close to linear as one might expect. Seebs gave some advice about this in the bug (https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10367#c11).
