No, it's not. As I said, I've encountered this sometimes when using Open Babel
inside of the Avogadro editor on a Mac. There's something different about
reading the binary file inside another process (locale?) and I'm not sure what
that is.
I appreciate the bug report - it'll definitely prod me to sort it out.
