I think this might be related to “pip install openbabel” being currently
broken, which is needed to work with multiple python environments.
Basically, this fix needs to be incorporated into the package that is submitted
to PyPI:

We have two copies of "openbabel-python.i” in the main repo:
- scripts/openbabel-python.i has been fixed by pull request #125
- scripts/python/openbabel-python.i needs to be updated to match it
Then the python package need to be uploaded to PyPI
