This is clearly a Netbeans issue. You should find a forum for Netbeans
questions and see if someone there has any insight.
On top of that, recompiling isn't the answer. I'll bet what's really
happening is that Netbeans caches the OpenBabel libraries. When you
recompile, Netbeans notices that the file's timestamp has changed, unloads
and then reloads the library. I'll bet if you restarted Netbeans after
running the script, it would work again. But clearly that's not a good
solution. As I said, talk to the Netbeans groups.
