The OpenAFS maintainers are happy to announce the availability of
the first prerelease for OpenAFS 1.8.12.

This release includes client support for Linux kernels through 6.9, as well
as some changes to avoid panics when writing to the local cache fails.
It also fixes an issue loading the kernel module on the AArch64 architecture
when using certain compiler versions.
Please assist the maintainers by deploying and testing this release and
providing positive or negative feedback. Bug reports should be filed
