David, I know there are libraries in PINES using SAM sucessfully. As we tell our libraries who are considering what we refer to as "third-party" software or services that connect to Evergreen via SIP2, it's important for the vendor of the third-party product to demonstrate its capabilities with Evergreen before a library commits to purchasing anything. (This requirement can be written into an RFP for example.) We maintain a test environment for such demonstrations.
Hope that's helpful!
