Hello my assumptions were correct.. and seliux was preventing proxy_http to make connections.. and looking on /var/log/httpd/error_log showed this:
[proxy_httpd:error] [pid xxxx} [client x.x.x.x: xxxx] AH01114: HTTP: failed to make connection to backend 127.0.0.1 the solution can be found here: http://sysadminsjourney.com/content/2010/02/01/apache-modproxy-error-13permission-denied-error-rhel/ as soon as you execute the setsebool command you will get the cmk login prompt. hope it helps.
