Bug ID: 513148
Summary: WISH: Add "copy image" tool to copy
original-resolution bitmap graphics to the clipboard
Classification: Applications
Product: okular
Version First 23.08.5
Reported In:
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: PDF backend
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
In Sumatra PDF (Windows or Wine), bitmap graphics can easily be extracted from
a PDF without loss of quality by right-clicking the image and selecting "copy
image". It would be great to have the same feature in okular, as it helps
greatly when e.g. assembling information from different PDFs for a presentation
under time pressure. Using command-line tools like "pdfimages" is viable, but
significantly slower.
RELATED EXISTING FEATURES
The closest thing Okular currently has is the "select area" tool, but this
essentially creates a screenshot, degrading the display quality of the image.
