I think a somewhat simple implementation for this would be an option to link
ctrl+f search with thumbnail search. Since thumbnail search already highlights
all the text in blue, linking these two together creates the desired effect.
Alternatively a short term solution would be a keyboard shortcut to search
using the thumbnail search. However that lacks the ability to go through the
results using "enter".
