            Bug ID: 497096
Summary: Advanced-search sidebar panel AND Search Folder
                    sidepanel
    Classification: Applications
           Product: okular
           Version: 24.08.3
          Platform: openSUSE
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: New backend wishes
          Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org
          Reporter: lybkexskmguugov...@ytnhy.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
"Advanced search" in the already existing sidebar panel as containing the
previous and next words of the searched terms, like Foxit does. And, a simple
"search in folder" for all documents in subfolders.
Both are features lacking which makes me not even use okular. Preferring the
firefox read-only.

I already described 5 more on:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496071
Which seems the 'settings slow load' was fixed. But the highlights are still
very outdated, and doesn't seem to have improved usability, not even the bugs
already mentioned.

Currently I'm using pdfgrep which is very impractical but completely adaptable
in GUI.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. ctrl+F search anything
2. slow.
3. don't preview the words

OBSERVED RESULT
too simple to be this slow.

EXPECTED RESULT

An advanced search sidepanel containing every reincidence of the entire
document, giving a customizable sequence of words before and after the searched
term.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Opensuse
KDE Plasma Version: 6,8
Qt Version: 6,8
