The file is broken (Adobe Reader will tell you on opening), hence it's not
displayed correctly.
Adobe Reader does a better job than poppler on recovering it, but that's hardly
a bug.
Anyway if you feel strongly about this should work even if the file is broken
file a bug for poppler in the freedesktop bugzilla.
