Most scientific papers use cross references to refer to equations or
bibliography items across the document. If cross references are widely used in
large documents, going back and forth each time to look for the correct page
can be a burden; hyperref can take you there, but there's no shortcut to go
back to the reading point.
It would be much better if hovering the reference hyperlink triggered a popup
to show the referred equation/citation/whatever in a floating, minimal window
[I'm thinking of something similar to wikipedia footnotes]. This feature could
be toggled by pressing Ctrl or another control key, in order to avoid annoying
unwanted popups.
