For instance, in my notebook with Intel 945GM the memory usage is normal. The same for xorg-ati drivers. Unfortunately, with opensource drivers my other laptop (radeon HD4670) suffer overheating, so I have to use fglrx and adobe reader. IMHO, this "bug" should be solved.
