Tabs are a great idea. I really don't understand developers who reject
implementing tabs on what they deem is "bad design" grounds. If tons of people
prefer to use a tabbed interface, there should be a tabbed interface. Ideally
one would have the option to turn this off or on at will, e.g. as with Kate's
"tab bar" extension.
